A gruesome honor killing has come to light in Bagalkote district. It is said that the father and mother-in-law of the young woman killed the two lovers and threw them into the Krishna river.
The parents of the two had lodged a complaint in the police station that the two had gone missing a few days ago.
Vishwanath Nelagi (24) and Rajeshwari (18) of the village were the lovers who were killed. Vishwanath and Rajeshwari were in love with each other for about 4-5 years.
Rajeshwari's parents, who came to know about this matter, interrupted their minor daughter's love and gave a word of wisdom. Vishwanath's family had sent him to Kasaragod in Kerala as a laborer.
But Rajeshwari's father, Parasappa Kardi, believes that he will unite both of them and asks Vishwanath to come to the village. It is as if Rajeshwari trusted Vishwanath who was near Naragunda and took you from Bevinamatti village as a gift. It seems that the accused who had brought the girl here killed Rajeshwari by tying her neck with a veil. It was as if Vishwanath was murdered by hitting his chest and head with a stone.
From there, the two dead bodies were taken in a cruiser vehicle. The dead bodies were taken to the Krishna river bridge of Hunagunda NH 50, and with the intention of destroying the evidence, they stripped the dead bodies and threw them into the flowing Krishna river. Then they brought their clothes near Sangam Cross and burnt them.
It is said that the police, who were suspicious during the interrogation, arrested the young woman's brother Ravi Hullannavar on October 15 on suspicion and during interrogation, the accused confessed about the act.
It is said that the father of the young woman said that Parasappa Kardi killed her with Kummak. In relation to the case, Bagalkote Rural Police, Rajeshwari Karadi (17) and Vishwanath Nelagi (22) are the murdered lovers. In the case, Rajeshwari's elder brother Ravi Hullannavar (19), father-in-law Hanumanta Malnada (22) and Birappa Dalvai (18) have been arrested by the police.
